Lady Gaga at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards
Gaga is the Dada of Pop. Love the tribute to Andy Warhol’s Factory and the masterful duet with Elton John, which left me…speechless :). The performance is crazy in a macabre, almost demented way, but it takes you into another dimension.
I’m not sure if she did this on purpose, but the whole idea of ‘replicating Gagas’ seems like an exaggerated take on Andy Warhol’s work, which was criticized for being mere replication of the common-place (soup cans, photos, etc) rather than ‘true art.’ Gaga is bringing that same sense of artistic anarchy into pop music, leading to fascinating (and sometimes freaky) results.
It’s refreshing to see an actual artist on the stage. I can’t help it. I’m ‘GooGoo for Gaga.’
